Heather Johnstone has been working in the healing arts for over thirty years and maintains an active Holistic Wellness Consultancy practice. She is a Nursing Master’s level prepared Advanced Practice Nurse (APRN) with a Family Nurse Practitioner specialty. Heather is an active member of many professional organizations including the American Holistic Nurses' Association. Her holistic health education includes a Doctorate in Metaphysics and a Diploma in Acupuncture. Additionally, Heather is a Yoga Instructor at the 500 hour level with the Yoga Alliance and has a specialization in Pranic Healing. Professionally, Heather finds the perfect balance in providing direct service to clients and facilitating the development of healing arts students.

Lynn Hardy,
C.N.C.
Founder
Lynn Hardy is a Traditional Naturopath and a Certified Nutritional Consultant. She is the Founder of the Global College of Natural Medicine and a devoted holistic mother to her ten-year-old son. She is an active member of the American Naturopathic Medical Association, the American Association for Nutritional Consultants, the American Association of Drugless Practitioners, and the American Holistic Health Association. Her health articles have appeared in dozens of publications in nine different languages. Her expertise and experience includes authoring alternative-medicine textbooks, researching and evaluating new health products, designing custom dietary formulas, and educating employees in the natural health industry.

Alana Tressa, MH, NC
Faculty
Alana brings a unique blend of abilities to her faculty position with thirty years of experience in the corporate world, and ten years of study and working with natural medicines. Alana has earned certification as a Master Herbalist and Nutritional Consultant with the Global College of Natural Medicine. She loves to develop custom formulas tailored to meet specific client needs. She also has studies in aromatherapy, energy healing including Reiki, crystal healing, Bach flower remedies, and metaphysics. Alana enjoys sharing what she has learned with others, and finds tremendous rewards in helping GCNM students move forward on their holistic path.

Anita Sippy, NC, MH, HHP
Faculty
Anita received certification as a Nutritional Consultant, Holistic Health Practitioner, and Master Herbalist from the Global College of Natural Medicine. In addition, Anita holds a degree in Accounting, diplomas in Tax Preparation and Bookkeeping, and certificates in Automated Accounting and Writing. She lives in scenic Wisconsin where she enjoys gardening during the warmer seasons, and preserves her wholesome bounty for the lean winter months. Reading, writing, cooking, walking, and camping are also some of Anita's favorite things. Although Anita is highly skilled with numbers, her greatest passion lies in holistic health and she is happiest when teaching others how to reach their full health potential through nutrition, exercise, supplementation, and alternative therapies. Anita especially enjoys helping GCNM students learn more about holistic nutrition and health.

Dr. Larry Wilson
Adjunct Faculty
Dr. Lawrence Wilson has a medical degree and 26 years experience as a nutrition consultant. He has specialized in the use of tissue mineral analysis to assess body chemistry, and now spends most of his time training practitioners in the use of the mineral analysis. Dr. Wilson is also experienced with sauna detoxification, and has written a book introducing the infrared lamp sauna as a powerful, safe and extremely low-cost method of releasing toxic metals, toxic chemicals and chronic infections from the body. Dr. Wilson has authored five books. They include Nutritional Balancing and Hair Mineral Analysis, Sauna Therapy, Legal Guidelines for Unlicensed Practitioners, Healing Ourselves and The Real Self.  Dr. Liza Schneider BVSC

Dr Liza Schneider is the director of Holistic Veterinary Services. She qualified as a veterinarian in South Africa in 2000 and is passionate about "helping animals of all kinds" having a special interest in wildlife rehabilitation. Holistic Veterinary Services is a leader in this field, using the best of both worlds by integrating Conventional Veterinary Medicine with Alternative and Complementary Therapies. Liza makes use of nutritional medicine, NIS, homotoxicology, Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy, Bach Flowers and a number of other therapeutic tools to improve the quality of life and long term health of her patients. Liza has authored a book as well as several articles relating to human fitness and nutrition. She also writes regularly for a number of publications on various veterinary topics and regularly conducts seminars on both animal and human health.

Karamie Hellman
Student Support
Karamie has a passion for people and is delighted to be aligned with the Global College of Natural Medicine. She is a Certified Massage Therapist and embraces the unique healing approach a holistic lifestyle serves to body, mind, and spirit. Karamie welcomes the opportunity to provide support for students as they become familiar with their selected holistic programs and course materials. With compassion and humor, she shares her computer expertise with students by orienting them to the Online Library and Resource Center, and the Student Forum. Karamie is a devoted member of the administrative team as well as a valuable resource for GCNM students.

Paul Pinion
Student Support
Paul is dedicated to living a well balanced, healthy lifestyle which includes time outdoors in the fresh air, nature appreciation, exercise, reading and music. Paul serves his community through volunteer work, has studied karate and Tai kwon do, and looks forward to learning more about natural medicine. As a GCNM administrative team member, Paul gives his best to help students.

Moira Khouri, NC, MH, HHP, CCP
Head of Faculty
From beautiful Vancouver Canada, Moira is a graduate of GCNM's Holistic Health Practitioner, Master Herbalist and Nutritional Consultant programs, a certified Life Coach, Usui Reiki and Sekhem Seichim Reiki Master, Reflexologist and Aromatherapist. Moira is a professional member of the Health Action Network Society, contributing articles and book reviews for their publications. In her private practice she offers Life & Health coaching, workshops, reflexology and Reiki healing sessions. An educator from the heart, her purpose in life is to write and teach, to help others with their journey to good physical, emotional and spiritual health through knowledge using holistic health practices for self-healing and for care of their families. During quiet times, she enjoys yoga and spending time with her two young grandchildren. With a lifelong passion for science and natural healing, Moira loves sharing with GCNM students and her clients regarding the beauty, simplicity, and many benefits of the natural approach to health and well being.

Kathryn Marcinak, HHP, BA, C-PT
Faculty
Kathryn Marcinak is a graduate of GCNM’s Holistic Health Practitioner Program. To supplement her interest in physical fitness and health, she also earned a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science with a Personal Training Certification. She works one-on-one with clientele looking to improve their physical fitness. As well, Kate uses her knowledge from multiple sources to help individuals improve, not only their physical health, but their entire health from a holistic viewpoint. She especially enjoys sharing her health and fitness knowledge with GCNM students and staff. Kate personally expresses her interest in physical fitness by training and running marathons all over the world.

Jen Embody, BA, HHP, NC, RM

Jen earned her Holistic Health Practitioner diploma and Nutritional Consultant certificate from GCNM. As well, she graduated with a B.A. in Psychology and Government from CSU, Sacramento. Jen is a Reiki Master,having learned Reiki in Ubud, Bali. She is educated in body and mind, persuing ongoing training in holistic health. Jen enjoys helping individuals heal themselves in her private practice in addition to teaching nutrition and Reiki in group settings. She believes education is vital to a healthy life. Jen is pleased to bring her skills and great energy to GCNM students.

Michelle Montezon-Halaska,

Michelle holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Fine Arts, is a Licensed Body Worker, and a Certified Raw Food Chef and Instructor. She has been active in the healing arts for over two decades with extensive studies in body work, neurolinguistic programming, hypnotherapy, transcendental meditation, and the holistic benefits of raw foods. It was Michelle’s passion for food as medicine that inspired her to become a Certified Raw Food Chef and Instructor from the International Culinary Arts Institute of Chicago, IL. In her private practice Michelle works with clients to create an optimal lifestyle that includes a healthy diet, massage therapy and meditation. In addition to educating her clients and empowering them to be active in their own healing process, she also shows them how to have fun creating awesome tasting food.

Ryan N. Harrison,

As a board certified Holistic Health Practitioner, Nutritional Consultant, and Master Herbalist, Ryan has dedicated his life to serving others and helping them in the "personal business of transformation." His private practice allows him to serve people on an individual basis, offering holistic health consultations. Additionally, Ryan's energies are directed toward conducting forums and workshops on alternative therapies and meditation, and hosting gatherings for those interested in viewing and discussing movies with spiritual themes. As an Adjunct Faculty member, Ryan welcomes the opportunities of contributing to the holistic health studies of GCNM students.

Logan Booth
Admissions Advisor
Logan is a California native who first lived in the Santa Cruz area while attending high school. He spent several years traveling the US, spending the majority of his time in Wisconsin. While there, Logan served as program coordinator for the University of Wisconsin Extension system. He is an avid reader with a keen interest in science, metaphysics, and holistic health. Logan enthusiastically welcomes new students to the holistic programs at GCNM by combining his passion for holistic health with his strong background in academic administration.

Chris Hirst
Registrar
Chris graduated from UC Davis with a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy. His studies also encompassed music, physics, history, and Japanese. Chris’ broad interests include working with computers and his role with GCNM is expanding to involve graphic design. He currently resides in Santa Cruz where he enjoys gardening, bicycling, and yoga. As college registrar, Chris efficiently manages the details of processing and maintaining student records and providing student support.

Melisa Totten
Student Support
Melisa loves spending time in natural surroundings being physically active. She takes long walks with her dog and participates regularly in outdoor sports. She, as well, has a passion for lifelong learning. And she feels a healthy lifestyle is imperative to feeling her best. Melisa brings these interests together in her work here at GCNM by helping students progress through their holistic health educational programs, so that they can then help others to enjoy the healing power of nature.

Sharon Silk
Student Support
Sharon has over ten years of experience in the administrative field and owns her own administrative support business. She believes in living an intentional life and making time to savor the simple pleasures and experiences it has to offer. Sharon’s dream has come true with a career that allows her to apply her skills, expressing her fullest potential, while having the flexibility to spend time with her family. Sharon is a valuable member of the administrative team and is dedicated to assisting GCNM students and graduates.

Deborah Malka, MD, PhD
Faculty
Dr. Deborah Malka is a holistic physician and wellness consultant specializing in naturally oriented processes of healing. She combined her love of science and healing, by earning an M.D. from the University of New Mexico, and has been practicing as a holistic physician since 1991. Besides her medical training, Deborah is educated in molecular biology and holds a doctorate in Human Genetics from Columbia University. Deborah’s interest in life energies compel her to look beyond the cellular to the whole being, and her training as a massage therapist and Natural Health Consultant enhance this focus. Currently she is the medical director of a holistic medical clinic, the Tree of Health, in Aptos, California where she specializes in subtle energy bodywork based on polarity therapy principles. Deborah has taught many vocational, college and university classes throughout her career, including chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, and bodywork. She looks forward to further sharing her healing wisdom with GCNM students, alumni, staff, and guests. Deborah’s first book, discussing the healing practices of an extraordinary community in Italy, is in press.

Jackie Christensen, BS, HHP, NC, MH
Faculty
Jackie has a passion for education, holistic health care, and people. Her many achievements include earning a Holistic Health Practitioner Diploma, Nutritional Consultant Certificate and Master Herbalist Certificate with the Global College of Natural Medicine. She has also received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communication Disorders with a Minor in Community Health from Minnesota State University. Jackie understands the importance of holistic health and incorporates it in her own life daily through a healthy diet, yoga, and conscious living. She is a wonderful resource for GCNM students with her holistic focus, and additional strengths in both customer service and administration. Jackie is an enthusiastic member of the faculty student support team and greatly enjoys helping students learn more about holistic health.

Emilie Greenwell, BA, HHP, NC, MH
Faculty
Emilie joined the GCNM admissions staff after earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at CSU Northridge. As a staff member, she also became a student and earned her Holistic Health Practitioner Diploma, Nutritional Consultant Certificate, and Master Herbalist Certificate. Emilie is especially passionate about holistic living for families. She is a leader for the Holistic Moms Network, and her particular interests include natural childbirth, lactation support, homeschooling, attachment parenting and raising chemical-free kids. She expresses her intense passion for organic food with her involvement in food co-ops and farm-to-consumer direct sales programs in her community as both a volunteer and a board member. Emilie enjoys helping students develop into holistic providers.
 Jennifer Pottruff, RH, HD(RHom), DNM

Jennifer is a Doctor of Natural Medicine (DNM) (BNMDP-NA), a Doctor of Homeopathic Medicine (HD(RHom)) (NUPATH), a Registered Herbalist (RH) (OHA), a Clinical Nutritionist, & Reiki Practitioner. She has also completed a course in Ear Candling. In her private practice, she is able to provide a holistic health plan to help others achieve their optimum health. When not working, she enjoys spending time at home in Canada with her 3 beautiful little girls and Celtic dancing.

Dr. Jacob Swilling, PhD.
Adjunct Faculty
Dr. Swilling holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Nutrition and has more than 25 years research experience in biochemistry with a specialization in chronic illness, degenerative disease and cancer, including 10 years with the GenesisWest Biomedical Center, of which he is the founder. He is internationally known for his advanced research in the fields of Integrated Health, Therapeutic Nutrition and Biological Medicine, and is a regularly featured presenter, speaker, and author. Dr. Swilling considers bringing people to natural biological medicine his life's mission. This has motivated him to develop a Self-Help Support Program -- a resource for Healthcare Practitioners and individuals, alike -- available throughout the country.

Scott Stoltenkamp

Scott brings to this position a strong background in information technology and an intense desire to teach. Within the student support position he shares his IT knowledge and assists students in learning the organization of the coursework daily. His all-encompassing thirst for knowledge and his talents for conveying information through a variety of methods, combined with his warm-hearted, genuine nature make Scott a strong member of the student support team.

Steve Gibbons

Steve Gibbons has a strong background in customer service and technical support, with a focus on software applications. Steve has interests in eating healthy, organic gardening, music and mountain biking. He looks forward to learning more about holistic health care in his time at GCNM. Steve enjoys working daily with the student body and helping prospective students find the right program for them.

Becky Gosky
Students Accounts Advisor
Becky holds a B.S. Degree in Speech Pathology/Audiology and a diploma in Massage Therapy. As well, she has provided guidance to holistic health students and graduates in finding their place in the health care field. Becky feels very fortunate to be able to serve the students and graduates of GCNM in the area student accounts, while being able to balance the need for both career stimulation and family nurturing. She is a mother of two active boys and lives with her family in the mountains of North Carolina where she enjoys outdoor sports and all the beauty, clean water, and fresh air the mountains offer.

Terry Neuman
Student Support
As a young adult, Terry took courses in Mind Dynamics, Creative Dynamics, Music and Silva Mind Control. These courses worked to strengthen her interest in holistic living. Presently, she regularly practices Qi Gong. Most mornings you will find her walking along the ocean before she goes to work. And she enjoys spending time with her three granddaughers, showing them how to eat healthy meals. She is very happy to be working at GCNM providing student support, shipping out our programs and catalogs and providing help wherever necessary.
